Tha Norwegian MG Club is now on Facebook. offisiell Facebook-side.
Kenneth Gustavsen from Follo Centre and Peter Skarsjø from Bergen Center have undertaken to run the club's FB profile, and have been preparing this for a while. The matter appeared on the club's agenda this summer, after a debate in the Forum. Unfortunately we did not get started before the driving season for all practical purposes was over, and a Facebook profile is probably the easiest to establish when there is a lot of activity among members. But, now we are underway and we will do our best to create an enjoyable meeting place for club members across the country.
The comittee approved the instructions to the FB editors on the 1st December and the page was published just minutes later.
There are several reasons why the club finally established themselves on social media (we also exploring options other than FB):
- Many are on FB anyway - why not give them something worthwhile to do :-)
- It is an informal arena for members to contribute content (status updates, photos, videos, etc)
- Good channel for the club to announce info of the 'nice-to-know "type. We are of course aware that we will not reach everyone there either (yet).
- Simple and accessible medium to update members on changes to the advertised program.
- Channel to showcase and create awareness around other activities, events or media in the club (Promotional and branding).
