Ever since the establishment of Bergen Centre in 2001, the members have been talking about the club house. The one they didn't have, but really, really, should have. Hence the centre's repeated attempts to make the dream come true. First time round was already in 2001 when they got hold of a building at Damsgaard in Bergen. Unfortunately the bubble burst rather quickly. The house was sold to new owners, and MGCC Norway was not part of the new owners' plan.
Then the years passed by without any new prospects showing up. In 2013 we were almost there. A large warehouse became available and we began to get our hopes up. Unfortunately, it turned out to be bigger than we could manage and once again we had to let it go.
This time we have found rooms of suitable size in a great location.
After official takeover on 1. July, we have already moved into our new home. 2500 sq ft of warehouse will, for the foreseeable future, be the official home of MGCC Norway, Bergen Centre. The club house will have meeting facilities, a workshop area with a hydraulic lift and indoor parking for up to 11 cars.
For the rest of the summer (which have been really shitty anyway) and the autumn, the members will be busy as amateur builders realising the vision of the above drawing. The hopes and intentions are to have everything ready for use in time for the first indoor centre meeting in October.
