IMG 0859Despite the airline Norwegian's sinister attempts to sabotage the club, MGCC Norway persisted and held their AGM in Stjørdal outside Trondheim on Saturday 7 march. The local centre in Trøndelag had prepared well and gave an admirable display of hospitality towards board members, centre leaders, register leaders as well as "ordinary" members. We do not hesitate declaring this event "Best AGM ever!".

We have become aware that some members with more urbane inclinations say that the AGM this year had been relegated to the provinces. We couldn't disagree more. However, the number of participants were somewhat lower than we have seen in the past.

After 6 years at the helm, the club leader Ola Thygesen had requested relief. The new leader, Peter Skarsjø, acknowledged Ola's contribution and thanked him for navigating the club safely through choppy seas and treacherous waters. We could not have had a better leader during this difficult time.

The AGM was held in peace and calm, albeit overshooting the scheduled time with a couple of hours. Important and difficult issues were up for serious debate, before we could count the votes. The article author's own proposal was accepted unanimously, allowing all members to vote electronically at next year's AGM. Hear, hear!

Static display in front of the hotel - just minutes before storm and torrential rain put an and to having roofless cars in open air.

Being proper and particular means there is always a risk of becoming a bottleneck.

What is so funny now then, Ola?

The boss, surrounded by enough modern technology to ensure that everyone can hear every breath he takes, with a coy smile. For once his right hand doesn't fiddle with the mouse, giving the delegates a rare glimpse of static slides.

The pictures taken by the guy by the windows (immediately recognisable as our esteemed editor), are probably on display in the next issue of MG-magasinet.

After a well executed Annual General Assembly, the hosts took us out on a surprise tour. The surprise turned out to be Granaas Farm. A soumewhat unassuming agricultural facility with one distinguishing quality: they were making traditional local malt ale. A somewhat sludgy liquid tasting immensely better than it looked, particulary since it was served with flatbread and salami.

Charmingly decorated, with about 250 candles, a red hot stove and foaming malt ale, served from glass jugs.

Even southerners liked the taste of malt ale. Are and Erik enjoy a beer buzz.

The previous leader, with quite a few glasses of malt ale inside the vest, describes, about 32 times, all the things he will have time to do now he is relieved of the heavy responsibility from his narrow, trembling shoulders.
