Bergen: General Assembly 2014
The Bergen Centre most formal event, the General Assembly, in the usual venue at the Bergen Technical Museum, on Monday 1 December 2014. Our Centre Chairman had asked to be relieved early from the chair, and an extra point had therefore been added to the standard agenda.
We realise that the statutes may we a tad too formal for a centre of our size. Standard issues like accounts and budget were briefly mentioned and ticked off. Let's face it, our financial activity doesn't generate a particularly large numer of entries in the books.
The activity programme for next year was given much more attention from the participants. It was decided that we shall try to organise garage nights in addition to the monthly members meetings.
Peter Skarsjø was elected new chairman for a period of one year. The short duration is due to the fact that this election is one year out of term. In accdance with the centre Statutes, the chairman is elected in uneven years. The centre accountant and cashier Truls Sundt was also up for election. Upon request, he had accepted to stand for re-election and there has been no suggestions of an opponent. In all the commotion, this case was passed without as much as a mention at the meeting, but we assume that Truls sits safe in his accountant's chair for another two years. We are available for reception of formal complaints any time during the next month.
